Site Explorer will show information about your site from almost 100 data points we collect, these data points are all important metrics for any technical SEO. You can access Site Explorer under the Site section in the left navigation menu.

At the top of Site Explorer, you will see some basic information, you can also export all the data from Site Explorer to a single spreadsheet.

Below the top section you will see the filter of Site Explorer, allow you to do some advanced filtering of pages that meet certain criteria you've defined, clicking on the arrow button at the right of the box to expand these filter options or use our filter presets by choosing one in the drop down menu at the left. These filters can be incredibly useful if you are auditing a site with thousands of pages.

Filters in Site Explorer allow you to view only pages that meet certain criteria, you can customized these filters to fulfill your specific needs or use our filter presets to quickly get pages that commonly require investigation when doing technical SEO:

If you've found none of these filters are able to meet you criteria, you can define a custom filters using the box below:

Here you can make as many AND / OR statements you'd like, and there are around 80 different data points you can choose from to create each statement, if you are not sure how to set these up, you can reference to our filter preset to learn more, the image below shows how to get only pages with meta description issues with these filters:

Let's take a look at what's happening here, the first statement get only pages with 200 HTTP status code, which will show only URLs with 200 HTTP status code. After that we use an AND statement to further filter down these pages, the next statement included 4 OR statements - meta descriptions too long, empty / missing, multiple instances or duplicate instances, which means that any pages that fulfill these statements will be included in the results, in the Duplicate Meta Descriptions we can choose how many duplicate meta descriptions should happen until these pages are included, so we've chosen more or equal to 1 here. Combining these statements we will be able to get only pages with Meta Description Issues.

After defining your preferred filters, click on Apply and the page will be refreshed with the data you've set to view.

Main

The Main view of Site Explorer give you the most basic information about your pages.

Data points available in the Main view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Page Depth - Distance between the crawled URL and seed URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL

Body Text

The Authorship view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' body text.

Date points available in Body Text view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Duplicate Page Content - Whether we have detected duplicate content from other crawled pages with this URL
  • Length (Words) - Length of the <body> section, count by words
  • Length (Characters) - Length of the <body> section, count by characters
  • Too Short - If a page contain less than 100 machine readable words, it will be flagged as Too Short

Canonicalization

The Canonicalization view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' Rel=Canonical meta data.

Date points available in Canonicalization view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Canonical Page - Whether the page caontain a Rel=Canonical tag pointing to itself
  • Rel=Canonical Target - Whether the page contain a Rel=Canonical tag pointing to other pages, if yes, their targets
  • Multiples on Page - If a page contain multiple Rel=Canonical tag, it will be flagged here

Robots

The Robots view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' robots.txt, meta robots and x-robots data.

Date points available in Robots view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • User Agents Blocked by Robots.txt - Shows all the user agents blocked by robots.txt for this URL
  • Meta Robots - If Meta Robots tag exists, its value
  • Meta Robots NoFollow - Whether the URL contain NoFollow meta robots tag
  • All User Agents Blocked by Robots.txt - If all user agents are being blocked by robots.txt, the URL will be flagged here
  • X-Robots Tag - If X-Robots tag exists for this URL, its value
  • All User Agents Block by X-Robots tag - If all user agents are being blocked by x-robots, the URL will be flagged here

Headings

The Headings view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' <h> tags.

Date points available in Headings view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • H1 - Content within h1 tag for each URL will be shown here if they exists
  • Length - The length of the h1 tag if they exists
  • Too Short - If a h1 tag contain less 10 words, the URL will be flagged in this column
  • Contain Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the h1 tag
  • Empty / Missing - Whether the page contain a valid h1 tag
  • Multiples on Page - If a page contains multiple h1 tags, they will be flagged in this column
  • H2 contains Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the h2 tag

Links

The Links view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' internal linking status.

Date points available in Links view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Internal Links to This Page - The number of internal links pointing to this page
  • Total Links on Page - The total number of links this page contained
  • Internal Links on Page - The number of internal links this page contained
  • External Links on Page - The number of external links this page contained
  • Too Many Links on Page - If a page contain over 100 links, it will be flagged in this column
  • No Links on Page - If a page contain 0 links, it will be flagged in this column

Meta Description

The Meta Description view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' meta description tags.

Date points available in Meta Description view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Meta Description - The page's meta description will be shown here if exists
  • Length - The length of the meta description tag
  • Too Long - If a meta description tag is too long, it will be flagged here
  • Contain Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the meta description tag
  • Empty / Missing - Whether the page contain a valid meta description tag
  • Multiples on Page - If a page contains multiple meta description tags, it will be flagged in this column
  • Duplicates - The number of duplicates will be shown in this column if there's multiple crawled pages contain the exact same meta description tag, clicking on the number will take you to the Duplicate Meta Description issue detail page

Meta keywords

The Meta Keywords view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' meta keywords tags.

Date points available in Meta Keywords view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Meta keyword - The page's meta keywords will be shown here if exists
  • Length - The length of the meta keywords tag
  • Too Long - If a meta keywords tag is too long, it will be flagged here
  • Contain Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the meta keywords tag
  • Empty / Missing - Whether the page contain a valid meta keywords tag
  • Multiples on Page - If a page contains multiple meta keywords tags, it will be flagged in this column
  • Duplicates - The number of duplicates will be shown in this column if there's multiple crawled pages contain the exact same meta keywords tag, clicking on the number will take you to the Duplicate Meta Keywords issue detail page

Pagination

The Pagination view in Site Explorer will give you information about your site's pagination markups status.

Date points available in Pagination view:

  • Rel=Next - If Rel=Next exists in this page, the column here will show the URL within the markup
  • Rel=Prev - If Rel=Prev exists in this page, the column here will show the URL within the markup

Redirects

The Redirects view in Site Explorer will give you information about your site's redirects settings.

Date points available in Redirect view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Redirect Target - The redirection targer URL if redirect exists for this URL
  • Number of Redirects - Number of redirects required until it lands on a page with 200 status code
  • Redirect Chain - If 4 or more redirects are required before landing on the final page, it will be flagged in this column
  • Mixed Redirects - When there are 2 or more other URLs redirects strung together in a chain with different status code, it will be flagged in this column

Title

The Title view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' title tags.

Date points available in Title view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Length - The length of the title tag
  • Too Long - If a title tag is too long, it will be flagged here
  • Contain Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the title tag
  • Empty / Missing - Whether the page contain a valid title tag
  • Multiples on Page - If a page contains multiple title tags, it will be flagged in this column
  • Duplicates - The number of duplicates will be shown in this column if there's multiple crawled pages contain the exact same Title tag, clicking on the number will take you to the Duplicate Title issue detail page

URL

The URL view in Site Explorer will give you information about your pages' URLs.

Date points available in URL view:

  • URL / Title - This column shows the crawled URL and its page title
  • Status - The HTTP status code of requested URL
  • Keywords - Mapped keywords associated with this URL
  • Meta keyword - The page's URL will be shown here if exists
  • Length - The length of the URL
  • Too Long - If a URL is too long, it will be flagged here
  • Contain Keywords - If any URLs contain mapped keywords, this column will tell you whether keywords are being used within the URL
  • Number of Parameters - The total number of URL parameters being used for this page
  • Too Many Parameters - Pages with 4 or more URL parameters will be listed as having too many and will be flagged here
  • Contains Invalid Characters - If the URL contain characters should not be used, it will be flagged here
