URL X-Ray brings together all metrics Dragon Metrics has collected for a single URL all in one place. It's like asking Dragon Metrics to tell you everything the platform knows about a page on your site.

This report is perfect for analyzing the performance of a single page and investigating why a page may or may not be ranking highly.

Accessing URL X-Ray

To get started, navigate to URL X-Ray in the left navigation.

In the text box, enter the URL you want to analyze or select from the dropdown.

All URLs included in the site crawl will be included in the list. If you do not see the a URL in this list, it was not included in the most recent site crawl. Check your campaign's crawl options to see why it was not included in the crawl.

Another way to access URL X-Ray is simply to click on a URL on the Keyword Ranking, Site Auditor, or other reports.

Once a URL is selected, you'll be taken to the Overview section of URL X-Ray, which displays a high-level summary of some of the data available for this page.

There are 10 sections in URL X-Ray, each covering a different topic. Click a section tab to jump to more details about each topic:

High-level details

At the top of every section, a high level summary of the page's data is shown.

Page title and last crawled date

Just below the URL, you'll find the <title> tag for this page. To the right of the title, you can see the last time this URL was crawled. If you've made changes since this time, you can always manually request a re-crawl of the site to view the most current data.

Common reasons why a page may not indexable include non-canonical URLs, redirects, HTTP 4xx or 5xx errors, and URLs with a noindex tag or blocking crawlers in the robots.txt.

  • Crawl depth: The fewest number of clicks it would take to get to this page from the home page of the site.

  • Meta robots: The value of the meta robots tag, if found on this page

  • X-robots: The value of the x-robots HTTP header if found for this page
