Filters in Link Manger and Link Research are very useful tool when analyzing backlink, and there are numerous filters available, for example you can:

  • Viewing Links by Keyword
  • Viewing Links by Anchor Text
  • Viewing Links by URL
  • Viewing Links by Target URL
  • Combining different filters

To start using these filters, head to Link Manager or Link Research report and click on the arrow button in the Filter Results box, here you will be able to choose from a variety of statements to filter your backlinks.

Viewing links by Anchor Text

You can filter backlinks that contain only your preferred anchor text, to do so, you can just choose Anchor Text statement in the drop down menu:

After that you'll need to define your matching rule, there are a few options here at your disposal:

After defining your matching rule, you can type in the text you are targeting in the box next to the rule and click apply, in the image below I've chosen to view only backlinks contain "hotels" in their anchor texts:

Viewing links by URL

You can filter backlinks that contain certain strings is their linking page URLs, to do so, you can just choose Link URL statement in the drop down menu:

After that you'll need to define your matching rule, there are a few options here at your disposal:

After defining your matching rule, you can type in the text you are targeting in the box next to the rule and click apply, in the image below I've chosen to view only backlinks that doesn't contain "mysite.com" in their URLs:

Viewing Links by Target URL

You can filter backlinks that contain certain strings is their target URLs, to do so, you can just choose Target URL statement in the drop down menu:

After that you'll need to define your matching rule, there are a few options here at your disposal:

After defining your matching rule, you can type in the text you are targeting in the box next to the rule and click apply, in the image below I've chosen to view only backlinks that point to exactly match "http://www.mysite.com":

Combining different filters

You can use AND / OR statements to combine multiple filters as well, in the image below I've used AND / OR statements to create a filter that only show followed backlinks that exactly match http://www.mysite.com/ or http://mysite.com/:

To add AND / OR statement to your filters, just click on the and / or button as highlighted in the image.
